I got the new TT 2x12 cabinet tuesday and had my Ceramic/Alnico H-Bomb installed wed night. I am blown away with the sound of this cabinet and how the mid's and mid highs just came to life with the Fuchs ODS50. After a few minor tweaks, the rig is just singing again. Thanks again and your products rock!

I'm an endorsee of Two Rock amps... I replaced the stock speakers on their 2x12 cab going with the Bomb config. and was blown away by the spectrum of tone these speakers produce, the amp just came alive... ,

The Tone Tubbies sound really sweet in the Black Face Super Reverb!!!! Two Ceramic's up top and two Alnico's down below. Very happy with the sound.
Thanks again,

Hey guys, I just wanted to check in with you again and let you know that I've been gigging pretty regularly over the last 7 months with two 4x12's worth of Tone Tubbies - one of your custom ported back cabs loaded with original recipe H1 alnicos, and a 70's Marshall Basketweave 4x12
loaded with H1E ceramics. I started out with the Marshall by itself, and added the alnico cabinet a few months later, and all I have to say is WOW!! I often volunteer (sometimes insistently) to provide the backline at shows where we're going to have multiple bands present. Most guitarists opt to just play through the Marshall cab because it's what's familiar to them, but they always end up coming up to me afterward wondering what kind of divine, but sacreligious mojo is running through that cab for it to sound so great. Of course, when you add that Tone Tubby alnico cab into the mix, all bets are off. It's just about the most pleasingly big guitar sound you can ask for.
I honestly believe that anybody playing through a 4x12 should try to ante up for some hemp treatment. The ceramics in a sealed back really thicken up and smooth out that classic Marshall sound and offer up enough cut to slice through a fat lady's thighs quicker than you can say "emergency liposuction". And I honestly don't think there are ANY fat lady analogies that can adequately quantify the amount of bottom this thing puts out. Thanks for the Tone!

My 1969 Fender Super Reverb has come ALIVE with the Tone Tubby speakers. I am amazed with the punchy percussion like dynamics and the harmonics are Transparent Bliss. The bottom end is usually my problem with Fender amps and I am usually blending Marshall Plexi's to get that bottom end I am looking for, but not so with the Tone Tubby speakers. I will always replace my vintage gear with Tone Tubby speakers.
Thanks Tone Tubby- Ron Cook/San Diego

I Hey TT guys, I got my 2x10 da bomb cab yesterday. Played it at rehearsal last night and am very very happy, it sounds smooth and just great. If you need an endorser that is somewhat less famous than Clapton I'm all yours. Keep up the great work
Best,

You were also interested in my thoughts on the ceramic vs the alnico. Here goes:
Many speakers have come and gone in my pursuit of the best in tone, but the result was much like sexually-motivated, non-commital relationships in my 20s. It finally comes to this.. I now have "Da-Bomb". Earlier, I described having tested a variety of Celestions, Jensens and Webers in a 20 watt Plexi-clone, and that I settled on the TT ceramic. In my descriptive in the ceramic letters section, I stated that the TT ceramic would be the last speaker that the 20 watt amp would ever have. Well it turns out that I lied. I tried the TT alnico in there and found it to accomplish a slightly more tonally sophistication, actually even more perfect for that amp. This cabinet has 1 1/2 foot deep pine cabinets with a laminated Baltic birch baffle board. The back is open and the alnico gets to breathe. My other amp is a 60 watt vintage Mesa/Boogie SOB (Son of the Boogie). This is a great amp, made in the early 1980's as an abridged version of the Mark I. It does seem to have more Marshallish qualities than the Mark that it was designed to emulate, and it also does a hell of a good blonde Bassman tone in the non-cascading channel. The available gain goes from classic grind that renders any of my several drive pedals marginal to bowel-shaking gain, well beyond what I will ever use for my styles (aggressive blues, jazz, classic rock and such). Some Mesa/Boogie purists consider the SOB to be a poor stepchild, but after clipping one leg of a specificed capacitor that makes the amp inherently bright and cutting, I found it to be a great, versitle amp. Thankfully, it does not have so many fricking knobs that weeks and even months of experimentation are needed to find the sweet spots - then requiring you to write down those settings in case you forget. OK, there could be some justifiable reservation about replacing the Black Shadow with a 40-watt rated Tone Tubby Ceramic in the 60-watt SOB, but I tried it with some confidence in the durability of hemp cones and that I would likely never play this amp at anywhere near even half volume or with insane amounts of gain dialed in. This amp is plenty loud with the gain settings at 4 and the master vol at around 2 - anything more and the owners of the smallish Downtown Sacramento clubs where I use this amp would advise me that I'm going to be invited back. To get the best goods, I hook up the other amp, using it as a cabinet only. Thus I achieve "Da Bomb". In fact, this is mostly how I use this amp now that I have the alnico TT. The outgoing Celestion Black Shadow doesn't even come close - and it's up for auction on EBAY as I write this.
So here is my attempt to describe the tonal differences -
The Ceramic
I spent years with Vintage 30s and Jensens. The Vintage 30's middy crang was at times overpowering and beamy, in spite of doing that one sound really well. I found that I seldom played at the volumes necessary to bring out the best these speakers have to offer. The Jensens were far sweeter and warmer, but would begin imitate Count Flatula when pushed too hard. I tried a Weber 1230 and that got better - that was, until tried the TT Ceramic - it brought all best of all worlds. It cuts through without harshness or the auditory ice pick effect. It has much of the warmth I loved in the Jensens with the addition of a creamy, very matured grit. Where hard rockers might find the nuances of the alnico alone to be lacking in cut and attack, I would recommend this speaker to any rockers who are operant conditioned to worship the Vintage 30. It's great for any type of guitarist and is not pigeon-holed for a certain playing style as are many of the most populat speakers. If this speaker were a wine, it would be a well-crafted old vine zinfandel - great structure and a grand set of testicles that it doesn't mind flashing to the audience from time to time.
The Alnico
If you take the TT ceramic, subdue the attack a little, and then add an interesting array of harmonic qualities that defy my ability to describe, you then get into the domain of this speaker. It produces tonal nuances that I see some guys utilizing pedals (set at modest settings) to emulate. I mostly play straight through this speaker, seldom ever feeling any need for pedals. It compreses well, negating the need for my Dyna-Comp that I sometimes use with ceramics. This speaker is creamy and profoundly reactive in delivery with a wide tonal spectrum. While obsessing on these attributes, it occurred to me that this speaker deceptively loud and all-encompassing - you can really feel this speaker react. Modern diode amps that emulate great tube amps may sound accurate in a studio, but the feel of the real deal seems elusive. But even with a great tube amp, some speakers fall short of maximizing the nuances of playing style, picking attack and such. The TT alnico takes reactivity to a whole new level and is great for trying to emulate some of the elusive Larry Carlton vibe or textured stylistics from Steve Kimmock, Eric Clapton and etc. If this speaker were a wine, it would be a high end cabernet, very complex and well structured. It too has a prime set of testicles, but it is more reserved about flashing the goods than the Ceramic.
Together? Whoever thought up "Da Bomb" got it right!
Thanks!!

Hi John and Everyone at Broun Soun,
I just wanted to take a minute to write and tell you how incredibly happy I am with the new 2x12 cab ( ALNiCo/ Ceramic mix). WOW!!! I knew that these hempcone speakers were good but I am blown away by the tone, depth and fullness of sound that is coming out of this lil' cab! I do a lot of finger picking and the responsiveness and detail that is coming through is incredible. No hint of
muddiness even in drop tunings; riffs are crisp and clear and arpeggios are clean and sweet with great note separation. The construction of the cabinet is also top-notch. Very lightweight, roadworthy and wonderfully warm and resonant. You guys are, no doubt, producing the best speaker on the planet! Keep up the great work! I bought this cabinet through Scott at South Valley Vintage Amps and just wanted to pass on to you a report of what great service I got from him. Awesome guy. He was very helpful and answered all the technical questions I had; great communication. He was fast, friendly and professional. You are very blessed to have him
representing your product. Thanks again to everyone.
A very happy and satisfied customer,

Your recommendation of “the bomb” for my lonestar special. I had them installed the day after they arrived and have gigged with them several times. Due to where we were playing and the type of gigs I knew I would have a great cross tasting (if you will) of various venues with last night’s being the best sounding room we play in.these speakers are awesome! They have just made this amp come alive! That ceramic allows my single coils/EL84 combo to still produce that “chimey” sound that I love and the alnico has warmed the thing up. I’m no longer losing a cavity a night! It’s as if my presence control was up to 20! There was another local guy in the audience last night who has the same amp and he was commenting on something sounding “so good”…(I wish it was my playing)..i fessed up as to the speaker change and I suspect you’ll be getting a call from him. Many thanks once again.

I've been using an H1E alnico and an H1E ceramic in my custom 2 x 12 cab, and I've gotta tell ya, the Tone Tubbys are the supreme speaker! They sound great with every amp thrown at them. Smooth, warm, and sexy right out of the box. Hemptone is the only tone! My Vintage 30's will be on the way for some hemp treatment. Keep up the good work over there. Thanks,
Jason L/Detroit
Hi Guys, Man, I have to tell you,. and you've heard it before, but I finished a proto 50 watt Marshall style amp that Buddy Guy will be playing, I ran it through a 2x12 cab with one alnico and one ceramic. Bammmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't even put into words the tone I've achieved with this amp and your speakers. Its the next in our Blues Box amp series. Again, tone tested and tweeked with Tone Tubby. There is nothing even on the market right now that I can compare it to, maybe a JCM800 without the shrill and much warmer and responsive, ect.....feel it....that's exactly what it is, you feel every note, soft or hard it hits yours ears with a very nice sweet response.
Thanks,

Hey Guys,
I just wanted to drop you a line to tell you how much I love my tubby 2x12 bomb cab (1 Ceramic and 1 Alnico). I have never heard fidelity out of a guitar cab like this. Mark Akin sold me on this thing months ago and I must say it was well worth the wait. I’m running a Bad Cat Hot Cat 30R into it and it’s truly unreal. At a gig the other night, someone came up to me and said: “If you’re looking for the perfect tone, you can stop now.” All I can say is thanks. It’s the rig I’ve dreamed of forever. Your cab makes an electric guitar respond like an acoustic instrument, and that’s what I’ve always strived for. And you guys can thank Mark Akin for a loyal convert. I’ll always use these speakers. And I’ll tell everyone I know about them.
Thanks again,
