John,

Got my TT 8" (8ohm) speaker for my Valvetrain last week and it's installed.
Here is my review as you requested:

Awesome! There is just no comparison between the TT and the Weber alnico the
amp came with. The sound is much clearer, louder, greater bass and mid
range, while maintaining better highs than the Weber.

I play a Fender Custom Shop '60 NOS Strat, and there is so much more "pop
and glassiness" up and down the entire fretboard. I noticed this only after
a couple hours of playing, and am very excited to hear what the speaker can
bring after some break in. All in all, I am thrilled with the new speaker,
and the logo sticker was lined up perfectly as requested.

It was good talking with you, and I hope this review is helpful.

Sincerely,
Chang

Hello! I have a 12" ceramic Tone Tubby in my 40w (2xEL34) Allessandro Working Dog guitar amplifier. I love this speaker - clear, warm, detailed, sparkling high end and tight in the bass (gives amazing bottom end for a 1x12 combo) and loud. But I'm starting to get a problem with it. I'm in a new band and am pushing the amp more than I ever have. It's a loud little amp. And the speaker is starting to frap a bit on the low notes - if I hit and hold a low, open E at the volume I need for rehearsals and performance, it definitely fraps, yet the speaker continues to sound good as long as I stay off the 6th string. Have I hurt my speaker? I hate the thought of that. A local speaker repair shop - who has not yet seen the speaker - has suggested the possibility of a tear somewhere. I've taken it out of the combo and looked it over and it looks fine to my eye. I understand that it is impossible for you to tell without looking at it yourself, but ... I'm going to ask anyway. Is it fine, do you think, and I am simply overpowering it with this amp? Or could it have some undetectable damage? I will probably take it in ... but it's very unfortunate timing as I have an important gig next week and the sound of this speaker is a part of what I do. Any suggestions? The number on the frame is TT12C3799. I really love this speaker - it makes me sick to take it out. I may have to buy a Celestion Vintage 30 or some other readily available thing just to get through the gig, which is in three days ... Ugh. Thank you for any help you can give me. - Tim

A boost for bc canada,

Just worked in my San rafael I bought from you into my 5e3
combo and LOVE it ... By tele bridge pu has TONE again ... Fat tone with
lots of sparkle and warmth ... It's ALL there and seems to be a couple of db
quiter( which I wanted and why you recommended it to me:).AWESOME!!!

P.s. this kicked butt over 2 other speakers that were double the price!!!!

Danville,

First off I would just like to say I'm using the H-bomb setup and I love it
I can blast women's clothes off when I play through that cabinet..

Oakland,

I just bought a couple of raw 12" 40/40s. So far I've only checked them out
uninstalled (no cabinet) and I'm knocked out.

Your 8" ceramic speaker turned my little Korean-made Vox Cambridge 15 into a
world-class amp.  I had tried a J***** Alnico, but it had no bass at all.  I
tried 2 different W****s, but they both sounded sounded like mud with an
ice-pick treble thrown on top. When I put the Tubby in I couldn't believe
what I was hearing.  The treble is sweet, crisp and rounded off perfectly,
no harshness at all.  The bass response is tougher and ballsier than any 1x8
I've heard anywhere, anytime.  No matter how I set the dials, I can not dial
up a bad tone with this amp.  Who would have guessed that the speaker alone
could make THIS much difference?  But it really does. Thank you!

I bought a Ceramic & an AlNiCo
for an ols SUNN cab I wanted to start using with my Trainwreck Express. I
got more than I bargained for with these Hemp Cone speakers. They really
sounded rich and musical right out of the box! Pretty rare IMO.
Now with many hours on them, they still reproduce all the frequencies they
originally could do, but with an element of "warth" or "charm" is more like
it. I get to play them very hard at times and I don't need to flinch for
fear of damaging an irreplaceable tone element or get "lost" in the mix with
our other guitarist. I've wired the two 8 Ohm speakers to reflect a 16 Ohm
load to my amp and this seems to extract all the best qualities from my OT
without it getting over worked. I'd like to get a pair of the round stickers
for my Anvil case and rearwindow. Super big-ups & hearty hugs for your
exemplary product!

I have been a TT Hemp Alnico devotee for it seems forever when Dennis
Cornell turned me on to you! From a single 10" to 4x12's for my own use.and
have referred MANY (15 in all!)and rave to all of my customers about your
product. Most recently my lawyers son bought 3 from you last month. I need
to make a another PERSONAL purchase of 4 8ohm 12" Alnico Hemps and 4 8ohm
40/40's.  I am a 54 yr. old guitar tech/gear head..and you are the "soul of
my tone" and I ain't afraid to scream it Loud!!!

I jammed with a friend last night with my recently acquired 1966 fender
bandmaster. He told me that I should try out his cabinet and I'm glad I did.
He had a open back 1x12 Tone Tubby cabinet with the Alnico magnet. I played
with the Tone Tubby, wonderfully smooth and rounded but with that nice crisp
bark to it.

I was thinking that I should get a pair of Alnico Tone Tubby's. In my mind,
this would provide the bark, sharpness, and clarity that I want. I did
notice right away, that the speaker sounded really loose and floaty in a
good way. Like it was breathing if that makes any sense at all.

I've loaded 12" Tone Tubbies into my Victoria 20112 and 50212 amps. I had
heard that they sound even better after a break-in period and it's
true...they sounded great out of the gate and just keep getting better after
a few months of steady playing.

No turning back for me...I have no desire to try anything else.

Hi John,
the speakers are great. Michael Hampton made the remark " Shaunna's rig sounds amazing" as overheard by my tech the first night I used them. So, many thanks, I look foward to our next run of the states
